Emergency Services are considered to be first response assistance and deals mainly with public health, safety and protection. Emergency Services: medical, police, fire and rescue, and ambulance all make up part of emergency services.

EMS is carried out in most situations by trained paramedics; however when the situation calls for it police, firefighters and other public safety workers are usually trained and ready to provide fast medical attention. EMS is designed to provide first response medical attention in life threatening situations such as: severe physical trauma, heart attacks, or diabetic emergencies. Mass emergencies like floods, earthquakes, snowstorms, tornados and hurricanes will require emergency services.
