Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is a great big party celebrated in the fabulous city of New Orleans or Mobile. Louisiana is very popular for this yearly festival. Another name for Mardi Gras is “Fat Tuesday.” The celebration is held usually in the latter part of February, but can sometimes occur in the month of March.

Mardi Gras is on Tuesday, as we already know, but it is the day before Ash Wednesday. It is the first day of Lent, a Roman Catholic holiday.
