Holidays and Observances include all of the calendar days that are recognized by people of a certain country, religion, or culture. On major holidays, such as Christmas or Labor Day, post offices are closed and the mail does not run.

Banks are generally closed as well in observance. Holidays, like Halloween, are celebrated, but not fully recognized. Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that is observed by those of that particular faith.

Boxing Day is a holiday that is celebrated and observed in Canada, but not in the United States.
