Thailand is a country located in southeastern Asia. This country is the official name of the former country of Siam, which changed in 1949. In the language of Thai the country’s name means “free or freedom.” If you were to the south of the Isthmus of Kra and by the Malay Peninsula this is where you would find Thailand.

Thailand is home to martial arts and Muay Thai is the official sport. It is more commonly known as Thai kick boxing to Americans.
