Tajikistan
Tajikistan was a republic formerly of the Soviet Union. It is a landlocked nation. It is located in southeast central Asia. In 1991, it became an independent nation. To the north of Tajikistan is Afghanistan.
Other countries that border it include China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. This country’s name means, “Land of the Tajiks.” Following its independence in 1991, this country was the poorest in the world. Since then its exports of cotton and aluminum have helped its economy greatly, but it is still vulnerable.
