Malaysia is located in Southeast Asia. Malaysia is a country that was formed in the year 1963 and achieved independence in 1957. It was formed by the merging of two other countries, those being Singapore and Malaya.

Singapore, however, seceded from the merging in 1965. The South China Sea divides the country into two parts. West Malaysia shares a border with Thailand upon the Malay Peninsula. East Malaysia is connected with the island of Borneo and borders the country of Indonesia.
