Kazakhstan is the country that was formerly known as the Soviet republic. It is located south of Russia and the Caspian Sea is to the Northeast. In the year 1991, this country gained its independence. An interesting fact about Kazakhstan is that it can also be spelled Kazakstan. This country is quite large considering that it stretches over central and northern Eurasia. This country is the ninth largest in the world.

The Caspian Sea is the coastline for the country of Kazakstan.
