Azerbaijan is located in southwestern Asia and it is a landlocked republic. It is located between Europe and Southwest Asia. Its eastern coast is on the Caspian Sea.

Armenia borders Azerbaijan to the west. It is a secular state. Its climate is arid, but not in the southeast. The seasons vary. It gets colder in the mountainous regions during the winter than it does in other regions. Petroleum and mining are big industries for the economy in the country of Azerbaijan.
