In the western hemisphere you will find South America. Most of its surface area is located in the southern hemisphere, which makes it a sub continent because it is crossed by the equator. It is connected to North America by the Isthmus of Panama.

South America is located between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

This continent includes the countries of Columbia, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Uruguay, the Falkland Islands, and French Guiana.
