Cyprus is an island nation located in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. It is located close to the country of Turkey and the Syrian Coast. 20 percent of the population in Cyprus is of Turkish decent. The other 80 percent are of Greek decent.

It is a Eurasian island. Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean. The country of Cyprus is sometimes included as a part of the Middle East. Greece borders it from the west and northwest, to the south is Egypt, and to the southeast is Israel.
