Belgium

Information

Belgium is the kingdom of the Belgians. This happened in 1930. Belgium is located in northeastern Europe.

It is the headquarters for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union. This country has been ruled by many other countries. First, it was ruled by Spain and became known as Spanish Netherlands. Austria took control in 1714, and then was moved to the French for the years 1795-1814.

In 1814, Holland controlled what was then called the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
