Oklahoma is coming up on its 100 year anniversary of when it became a state. This happened on November 16, 1907. The capital of Oklahoma is Oklahoma City.

Brad Pitt and Reba McEntire both hail from the state. The state bird is the scissor tailed flycatcher. The state flower is the mistletoe. The highest point is the Black Mesa, which is at 4,973 feet. Three of the largest cities are Oklahoma City, Norman, and Tulsa.

The nickname for Oklahoma is the sooner state.
