North Dakota has 3 very unique nicknames. One is the peace garden state. The next is the flickertail state and the third is the roughrider state.

On November 2, 1889, North Dakota was admitted to statehood. The state bird is the western meadowlark. The wild prairie rose is the flower that symbolizes North Dakota best. Two of the largest cities in North Dakota are Fargo and Grand Forks. The state motto is liberty and union, now and forever, one and inseparable.
