North Carolina became a state on November 21, 1789. Raleigh is the state capital. Ava Gardner, Billy Graham, Andy Griffith, and Randy Travis all call North Carolina home.

The agriculture in this state is full of tobacco, poultry, eggs, milk, cattle, hogs, and soybeans. The dogwood flower is the state flower. The largest cities in North Carolina are Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro, Fayetteville plus a few others not mentioned.

The motto of North Carolina is to be, rather than to seem.
