New Jersey is known as the garden state. Its largest cities are Newark, Jersey City, Elizabeth, Jersey City, and a few others. Trenton is the capital city of New Jersey.

On December 18, 1787, New Jersey became a state. Famous persons who are Jerseyites include Aaron Burr, Jon Bon Jovi, Lauren Hill, Ice-T, and Frank Sinatra to name a few. Delaware, New York, and Pennsylvania all border this state.

The violet is the state flower and the northern red oak is the state tree.
