Information

Indiana became a state on December 11, 1816. Persons who live in the state are referred to as Hoosiers. Its flag is blue with nineteen stars, 13 of which represent the first thirteen colonies.

There is also a flaming torch in gold on the flag. The official state flower is the peony. The motto of Indiana is, ?the crossroads of America.?

The origin of the state is ?Land of the Indians.? The song of Indiana is on the banks of the Wabash.
