Area codes are essential for keeping in contact, by phone, all across the world. It is a telephone numbering system.
Not only can you make calls, you can also receive incoming calls. The area codes are generally placed at the beginning of a phone number to designate specific geographical areas. Canada and the United States are at a fixed area code of three digits. Australia has only one digit.
Countries with variable lengths of area codes are Israel with 1 or 2, Germany and Austria are between 2 and 5, and Japan is between 1 and 3.
