National security is the primary goal of a country. This is the ultimate in security measures. The interests of countries are protected by national security, including military, political, and technological aspects.

Foreign relations and the defense strategies and techniques are also protected by national security. It concerns itself with a nation?s safety from threats especially those that are made from external sources.

The federal government has a primary goal in securing the nation from all threats and/ or terrorists. Survival of the nation is also looked upon.
