Agencies are businesses that have a goal of serving another business or individual. This also refers to an administrative unit that is part of the government.

Agencies deal with laws and the contracts between at least two consenting parties. One party represents the other within a service and the contract between them is legally binding. It is also referred to as an agent and a principal.

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or even the United States Postal Office can both be classified as agencies.
