Weapons and equipment are tools that can be used to defend, cause harm, kill, destroy property, or threaten.
In an attack it is ideal to have adequate weapons against the enemy. Any one thing can be used as a weapon from a simple pair of tweezers to a machine gun. Equipment is what is used to perform a service or job. Certain tasks require special pieces of equipment.
Several tools can do the job for one task and then turn around and do another completely different job.
