Flash is computer software that is required to view animation on the World Wide Web. It was developed by Macromedia.
With flash, animation is quick to download, are of high quality, and are browser independent. Graphic illustrations are what flash is primarily used for. Shockwave was also developed by Macromedia. It is used for the creation and distribution of animation on the internet.
Flash is the successor of shockwave and a plug in is required to view shockwave files, but is free.
