Modern refers to the style of art, architecture, furniture, history, or clothing that belongs to the era after the Middle Ages.
This can also mean style that is upcoming and new or recently developed. Another term for modern would be present day. contemporary style or design is referring to present times. Up to date style of furniture that is characterized by rounded lines with modern design.
It is the furniture style of the latter half of the 20th century.
